I started the new year hitting the ground running. I got a job working as an assistant to a stylist here in Nashville while also interning at a PR firm. I've already learned so much about fashion and styling from working as an assistant. I find that I'm more experimental in my style, which you may see in the photos below, and I try to reuse staples from my closet with different outfits. Due to my crazy schedule, I haven't had time to sit down and write a blog post, but let's be honest I couldn't stay away too long. This post consists of five winter outfits I've styled in my free time and have worn on repeat this winter.
Winter is a weird season where fashion can be exciting and experimental, but in reality all we really want to do is put on our favorite pair of sweatpants and hide under the covers. Hopefully, these outfits will inspire you to layer up and keep on styling.
1. Sporty Neutrals
Track stripes are a huge trend right now in the fashion universe, and I love how they spice up a basic black cardigan. I paired it with a black bodysuit and distressed cropped jeans. I love this cut of jean, especially for someone who's short like me!

2. Bohemian Accents
Sometimes the accessories make the outfit! The main focal point of this outfit was the matching bag and hair bow. I love how two minor pieces can really pull an outfit together.

3. City Chic
If you've been following along on my Instagram, you probably saw that I went to New York City a few weeks ago. Whenever I visit, I always leave inspired by the city's fashion scene. Everyone is so trendy, even when they're walking to work in 30 degrees. Maybe the secret to achieving city chic is that black is always the go-to color. In this photo I paired a gray sweater jacket with a black lace cami and faux leather leggings. I layered a chunky scarf and open-finger gloves for warmth.
*Tip: making open-finger gloves is easy & quick. Buy a pair of regular knit gloves (I bought these for $4 at Target) and using fabric scissors cut 1/3 off the top of every finger on the glove.

4. Leather + Prints
I wore this outfit during the Christmas holiday. Sadly, it has been that long since I've posted last. This vegan leather jumper is still on sale at Free People! I paired it with a white turtleneck and cheetah print beret as an accent. I love this simple yet cute outfit that's a perfect day-to-night look.

5. Mixed Prints
This last look may be one of my favorites! I love experimenting with prints and seeing what will go together. I chose a large print (cheetah print hat) and paired it with a small floral print (dress). Another favorite trend of mine is faux leather over-the-knee boots. They are the perfect shoe to wear with dresses in cold weather, plus you can finally stop spending your money on tights that rip after one wear!

I hope the winter fashion tips help you shed those boring sweatpants. If you use any tips, send me a message on Instagram because I'd love to see how you styled your winter outfit!
