Thanksgiving is just a day away, and I'm so ready to spend time with family. Every year my family and I start the morning off by lounging in our pjs and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade accompanied by mimosas and breakfast. Then my parents start to prepare the big meal for later that afternoon. We all gather around in the kitchen laughing and chatting together. I'm always more excited about this part than the actual meal!
I know we are all wrapped up in preparing our homes for the arrival of family, planning out the big Thanksgiving meal, or squeezing in that last workout before tomorrow's food coma, but I wanted to stop and take a moment to write down what I'm grateful for this year. I've always loved this exercise because we are so quick to get wrapped up into the holiday hustle (i.e. Black Friday + Cyber Monday shopping) and easily forget to appreciate the true purpose of this season. So, continue reading to find out 10 things I'm grateful for this year!
1. My Family
I love my family! We are all so close knit and supportive of each other. I've moved around a lot in my 20-something years of living. While lots of things change when you move from place to place, my family has always been the most consistent factor in life. I don't know where I'd be without them, and therefore had to be the first on my list!
2. My Boyfriend
Kevin and I've been together for four years! Never in my life did I think I'd be able to date someone for that long before meeting Kevin. He picks me up when I'm down and loves me at my worst. He's my best friend, and I'm so grateful to call him mine!
3. My Faith
I'm grateful to be able to live in a country that allows me to worship God freely. I'm thankful for His grace and unending love. I'm grateful for the plan that He has for my life and His perfect timing.
4. My Friends
Friends come and go, but I'm grateful for each and every one that I've had in my life. I'm thankful for the good times we've had and the laughter we've shared.
5. My Health + Home
This one is a given, but also so easily taken for granted! I wouldn't be here without my health, and wouldn't be well-rested and warm without my home.
You might be thinking that I'm absolutely crazy (maybe even off my rocker), but I'm grateful for the challenges I've experienced this year. It's definitely been a trying time, and I'm sure there will be more. However, these challenges have made me a stronger person today, and I'm grateful for that!
I may have had a few challenges this year, but I've also had some really amazing opportunities. I'm grateful for both and each season of life!
Where would we be without the support of others? Support get's you through the challenging times and helps you celebrate new opportunities.
I love laughing and smiling! I'm grateful for the people and experiences in my life that bring me happiness.
10. This Blog + My People
I'm so thankful for this creative outlet and all the skills I've developed through it! I'm grateful for you and your continued support of Lashville. You are the true MVPs.
Now, let's talk fashion! I'm absolutely OBSESSED with the cheetah print trend this fall! I want it on all my jackets, dresses, tops, and even shoes. I found this lovely mid-length dress at H&M. I paired the dress with over-the-knee boots from Forever 21 and a corset belt from American Eagle. This outfit is perfect on it's own, but throw on a moto or leather jacket for warmth! Everything is under $100 and the perfect gift idea for a fashionista in your life.
