Holiday Outfit Ideas | One Dress, Two Ways

December 13, 2017

The holiday season involves many celebrations from formal holiday parties to ugly Christmas sweater parties and big family dinners to date nights with your loved one. With so many occasions to dress up for, how can a girl possibly own enough dresses for them all? Here's the secret: You don't have to have a million dresses in your closet to look fabulous for every occasion. You just have to know how to mix them up!  I've taken my  favorite dress from Altar'd State and created two holiday-ready outfits.

Here, I'm dressing up for a fancy Christmas party or formal holiday dinner. I absolutely love the detail in the stitching on this maxi dress from Altar'd State. One of my favorite things when planning an outfit is finding ways to add a hint of texture. I chose a velvet choker and tassel earring for a subtle touch of texture. Another important thing to consider when dressing for a holiday party is finding a comfortable, cute heel because you will be standing for a majority of the party. I found these black heels from A New Day at Target. They're a perfect balance of elegance and comfort — not to mention the price is right! I like to finish my outfit with a dramatic lip and since it's Christmastime I went with a bright red from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Same dress, different story. This time I'll be dressing up for a Christmas date-night with my boyfriend to eat at our favorite local restaurant and later head to see some exciting Christmas show. I want to dress down for the occasion but still want to look festive for the holidays (and my date). I combined a leather jacket to give my look a more casual appearance. I paired my outfit with my favorite black lace-up booties from Target (again these are a comfortable choice because of the block heel), and finished off my look with gold hoops and a dark lip.

I hope these tips will help you to prepare for holiday parties to come! Don't forget your most important feature is your smile! Only one week left to sign up for my Smile Brilliant giveaway where you could win a custom whitening kit.
