Hi, my friends! I can't believe I haven't gotten around to doing this but it needs to be documented. I officially started my blog November of last year. Meaning Lashville is officially one year old, and I can't believe it! If someone said to me back in college that I would start a blog, I would've laughed in their face. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked writing (I majored in journalism) and have always loved fashion, but I was too shy to put my thoughts out there for everyone to read. Blogging has been so great and it's helped me gain confidence through it.
Going into blogging I didn't really have many expectations. I initally started Lashville with one concept in mind, which was to showcase the awesome female creative community in Nashville. It was sort of a project to work on while I was trying to find a journalism job, but the project turned into a passion and I started to take it seriously. I still really enjoy writing about the creative community in Nashville. I hope you've enjoyed reading these inspiring stories as much as I've enjoyed writing them.
Half-way through the year I started to focus on writing pieces about fashion. I found that I was finally brave enough to step out and share my outfits/fashion advice to the world (well my followers anyways). Honestly, thinking back to my initial expectations I'm not sure if I even expected to keep up with this for a year. But, I'm so glad I did!
My dream for this coming year is to work towards becoming a full-time blogger. I've always wanted to be my own boss and run my own company so I'm committed to making it happen. I want to say "so long" to trying to juggle three side jobs at once! I hope to eventually work with brands of my dreams. I also want to continue to make a community out of Lashville. I want my blog to be a place where women can come to look for pieces of advice, inspiration, motivation, or whatever they need that day. My followers have helped me get to this point just by continuing to read my blog. They keep me going when I lose sight of my dreams. I just want to extend the deepest, heartfelt thanks!
Now, back to what you're probably here for. My outfit is a mixture of new and old, but a perfect combination to make a vintage inspired 70s outfit. I'm wearing a top and skirt that I recently bought at Molly Green (may still be in stores...skirt linked above), faux fur vest from American Eagle from forever ago, and hoop earrings from Altr'd State.
