September has flown by and the 22nd, the first day of fall, is quickly approaching! I'm so excited for fall weather here in Nashville and to celebrate with all the season's festivities. It's the first day that people won't judge you for ordering a pumpkin flavored drink (not a huge fan of the PSL but I do love pumpkin beer). It's the first day you can start planning your fall bucket list. It's the first day to bring those sweaters out of storage even if it's still 80 degrees outside. It's also the first day to start planning that fall wardrobe if you haven't got around to it.
The fashion world has joined forces at New York Fashion Week to give us the hottest trends for fall 2017. My Instagram feed as been flooded by fashion designers, celebrities, and fashion influencers posting their favorite NYFW looks. One of the biggest trends I'm seeing on Instagram and in fashion magazines is the boyfriend plaid blazer. I love this look because it is classic yet versatile. Whatever your style choice, the oversized plaid blazer is a great layering piece for your fall wardrobe.
You can dress up the blazer for work to look classy and sophisticated or dress it down on your day off to look chic and trendy. For work I would pair the plaid blazer with a great pair of slacks (matching design or solid color), a basic tee, and a pair of black loafers. I've styled down this boyfriend plaid blazer from A New Day at Target and paired it with distressed jeans, a double buckle belt, a black lace camisole from Who What Wear, and red block heels from Nine West. Some of these pieces are from past collections so I've tagged new options for you to shop!
