How to Perfect the Rocker Style
I don't know what it is, but something about the rocker-style always makes me feel fierce. Does anyone else get that feeling? I guess it's just something about a distressed band tee and dark colors that makes a girl feel confident. So, how do you perfect the rocker chic look?
1. Understand the importance of the perfect pair of pants.
When choosing a pant make sure they are as unconventional as rock-n-roll. Here are a few rules to live by as a rocker fashionista: the skinner the better, distressed is more, prints all the way. As you know I love taking old pieces from my wardrobe and mixing them with new buys. I bought these grid-print pants about two years ago at Nordstrom Rack. They are one of the most comfortable pants I own, and I always get compliments when I wear them.
2. Nothing says rocker style better than a distressed band tee.
This one's pretty easy and also probably the cheapest piece in the style book. I threw on a Metallica band tee from Target that I got for $4! I love the faded wash on this tee. You can add more texture to the outfit by getting ripped/distressed tees. Go big or go home, babe!
3. Find a jacket that's as badass as you.
Some great outerwear options are a moto or motorcycle jacket, faux fur coat (I love cheetah print), silky kimono, military jacket, shaggy sweater, or printed blazer. I bought this shaggy sweater from Molly Green this winter (and it's still in stock). Click the link above to call dibs on this sweater!
4. Statement shoes are a must.
Nothing difficult about that, right? Booties are my favorite shoe option, but also you can throw on a cute pair of sneakers or heels. They don't have to be colorful— when in doubt black is always in. I chose my favorite white booties from Steve Madden.
5. Jewelry, jewelry, jewelry!!!!
The more jewelry the better. Layer it on! Gold or silver? It's your choice. I chose turquoise jewelry to add an extra pop of color.
6. Remember those sunnies to protect you from the paparazzi.
I finished off the look with a cute pair of brow bar round sunglasses from BP. Other options for sunglasses would be oversized aviators, vintage round, traditional wayfarer, or clubmaster.
7. Secret weapon to fierceness is confidence. You look good girl so let everyone else know that by holding your head high.
