Polka Dots + Cabbie Hats

Hello, 70's. The cabbie hat is back!

Soul to Soul Tee by Lucky Brand

It's the second week of October and my pumpkin obsession is already in full force! Trader Joe's has a great selection of pumpkin flavored foods and beverages — try the Pumpkin Joe Joe's — I know from experience! I've decked my home out in fall smelling candles and decorative pumpkins. I went to Nashville's Oktoberfest this weekend in Germantown, and it was a blast exploring all the different vendor booths and drinking fall flavored beers. To top it off I've started planning trips to the pumpkin patch, adventures through haunted houses and forests, a list of must-see Halloween movies, my Halloween costume (and probably my boyfriend's), and so much more. All the fall activities are being planned right now, and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

I'm loving the fashion trends this fall! Just to catch you up if you don't know what's trending this fall — don't worry girlfriend, that's what I'm here for — I have created a list:

1. The Color RED

2. Florals

3. Polka Dots

4. Retro Hats

5. The Plaid Blazer

6. Wide Belts

7. Denim on Denim (aka the "Canadian Tuxedo") 8. Metallic Silver

9. Western Influence

10. Furry Coats (faux of course)

Now, you don't have to go crazy and find pieces that match every category to be trendy. I normally buy a few statement pieces for every season and then mix-up my outfit with wardrobe staples. If you're looking to buy on a budget, check out some vintage or consignment clothing stores near you. A lot of these categories have been trends in the past. You might just find a gem!

The polka dot trend is one of my favorites this season, and I was lucky enough to find this Molly Green dress at their warehouse sale a few weeks back. I paired it with black booties that I already owned and a Lucky Brand tee for a casual, daytime look. Throw on a black leather jacket for when it gets colder. Shop the look below.

Keep rockin' your style gorgeous!
